We went to camp!

March 5, 2009

Last week I went to camp. I joined my daughter and her 6th grade class for 5 days of science camp in Sly Park. Altogether, there were 4 schools, 180 kids and several chaperones and teachers.  It was a fun, wet (it rained a lot!) and exhausting ( I missed my bed.) time.

Best of all, I got to spend time with my daughter. She is one amazing lady.  Check her out in this photo below on the climbing wall. There were three different walls for the kids to climb and she did them all. She even climbed a few times blindfolded!

Each day we went on a hike. The shortest was about a mile and the longest just over 5. It was gorgeous!

And we made lots of friends….

Even friends with scales and fur and whiskers…

(The iguana above was named “Iggy”.
I thought he was pretty cool.  I was able to pet him and was surprised to find out
that the spines on his back are soft and bend easily. He was pretty curious about my camera.)

Susan — Lovely photos. I especially liked the collage of S climbing and the one of single file campers going through the trees.   ( March 6, 2009 @ 6:53 pm )

I rec’d a free lens rental from Borrowlenses.com so I thought I’d try out the Lensbaby Composer…it’s so cool.
Check out these fun images of our Christmas Tree….

26.2?…..Maybe again someday for me….perhaps 2009….wanna join me?

Photo info: All but one of these was shot using the 2.8 apeture ring. I used my little on camera flash with 1/2 CTO gel on it to warm it up a bit and add a little fill light. (slideshow)
