Stacey & Dominic – at last!

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Way back in January I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Stacey & Dominic’s wedding. They were married at the Holy Family Community Church in Roseville & then had their fabulous reception at the Power’s Mansion Inn in Auburn.  I feel honored to be one of the photographers asked by Alfred, owner of the mansion, to photograph their events.

Here are a few of my favs from the day…

Flowers Everywhere

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

I love having fresh flowers in the house! With both Valentine’s Day and birthday celebrations, we have  lot’s =)…

Tulips and Clemantis…the painting in the background was painted by my husband’s grandmother. She was a fairly well known painter in Italy. The painting is of her Italian estate, “Ricavo”.

Tulips are one of my very favorite flowers. I wish they lasted longer.

What’s Valentine’s Day without a red rose?  This one even survived being knocked to the ground by our cat. Bad kitty.

Looking for Lance

Friday, February 13th, 2009

I heard that Lance Armstrong was in town so I went on a little “Lance hunt” this morning in downtown Sac.  Sigh….I didn’t see him but I did have a chance to take a few photos of the state Capitol and a few of the surrounding buildings.  I really love  Sacramento and think it’s a beautiful city.

By the way, if you want to know what Lance is up to, you can follow him on Twitter…..

This afternoon

This afternoon, so I could get some practice using my new e-Bay reflector, my oldest modeled for me….

A few technical details: All three photos were processed using Lightroom. On the last photo, I tweaked it a bit in Photoshop using a couple of the Totally Rad Actions. For lighting I used a silver/white triangular grip reflector that I bought at the this e-Bay store – it was a bargain =).

The Trader Joe’s Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Weight Loss Program

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Since it’s still January I’ve been thinking a lot about my 2009 goals. One of those goals, like many of you, is to get in better shape. I’ve known for awhile that I need to make some changes in my eating habits. Recently I discovered the Trader Joe’s Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Weight Loss Program – also known as the TJVCCCWLP.

Well, as everybody knows, vegan cookies have zero calories and zero fat. In fact, you lose weight with each bite. So, if you buy a bag in the morning and eat the whole thing before your family comes home in the evening, you will be thinner by dinner time!

So being a little skeptical, I compared the Trader Joe’s Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie to a more a traditional “health” food – the baby carrot.

Well, I was so amazed at what I learned! Since the baby carrot is so high in calories & fat, you can eat 7 cookies for every 1 carrot! Who knew that would be the case? I sure didn’t!

But wait….it gets even better! Since, as you now know, the Trader Joe’s Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie has zero calories, you can eat the 7 cookies AND the baby carrot AND still lose weight!

Amazing, don’t you think? I’m certain, especially those of you who know me in person, that you will definitely see a difference in me if I stay on the TJVCCCWLP. I may even have to buy new clothes!

Note: I’ve also heard that the Trader Joe’s Vegan Oatmeal Cookie has fabulous health benefits, too. Supposedly if you eat the whole bag you will build muscle and cardiovascular strength. Many have been able to run marathons averaging a 6 1/2 minute mile pace after doing the TJVOC training program.
