I took this awhile back when we hiked Mount Diablo. It really struck me how beautiful it was that this little tree was growing right of the rock even with no soil in sight. Reminded me of hope.
“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I put my hope.”
Psalm 30:5 (NIV)

This morning, Teddy (our cairn terrier) & I went out early for a walk; I even jogged a bit (Go, Me!). It felt good to enjoy the fresh air – I love the mornings after a good a rain. The light is always so pretty & colors are vibrant. I had my awesome, little point & shoot camera
with me, too. I forget sometimes that I live in such a beautiful area.

Last Sunday, Mark & I had a great time hanging out with Nate and his dad down by the river. Nathan is a senior so we met to take a few casual senior portraits. Briar, their beautiful, friendly lab joined us. Today I started going through all the images and wanted to share this one as a sneak preview….
Thank you, guys, for a fun afternoon!
Tonight I’m feeling full – so grateful for these days. Yesterday I had such a great time with my 7 year old and her class; we went on a field trip to the Sacramento Zoo. It was so fun to speed around the zoo with happy, energetic first graders. And today, I went on another “field trip” =) with two wonderful friends to Napa. We had a tasty picnic and a beautiful day together.
A few pictures…

This old guy was loving the sunshine.

She was watching us….
And now a few pictures from Napa:

Yes, these are garbage cans but old wine barrells always look pretty cool =)
Flowers everywhere…

Here is just one of the truly splendid views from Mount Diablo…
