Nate (a sneak preview)

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Last Sunday, Mark & I had a great time hanging out with Nate and his dad down by the river. Nathan is a senior so we met to take a few casual senior portraits. Briar, their beautiful, friendly lab joined us. Today I started going through all the images and wanted to share this one as a sneak preview….

Thank  you, guys, for a fun afternoon!

These Past Two Days…

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Tonight I’m feeling full – so grateful for these days.  Yesterday I had such a great time with my 7 year old and her class;  we went on a field trip to the Sacramento Zoo.  It was so fun to speed around the zoo with happy, energetic first graders.  And today, I went on another “field trip” =) with two wonderful friends to Napa. We had a tasty picnic and a beautiful day together.

A few pictures…

A View from Mount Diablo

Here is just one of the truly splendid views from Mount Diablo…

Where were you on February 19, 1973?

This was carved into a large rock at Mount Diablo

(This was carved into a large rock at Mount Diablo. I find it fascinating that people carve their names on trees, boulders, picnic tables, etc. It's like they are saying, "I was here. I matter.")

On February 19, 1973, I was 7 years old probably looking forward to my upcoming 8th birthday that was only 7 days away. At the time, I think my family had recently moved to Garland, Texas from Ponce, Puerto Rico.  I was the goalie for our soccer team, the Eastgate Gators. My mom was the coach.  Living in Texas was a fun time for me. I have good memories of playing outside a lot with my best buddies, Anne and her brother Howard.
