A Carpenter’s Boots

“The man with the boots does not mind where he places his foot.”  Irish Proverb

“None of us got where we are solely by pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps.
We got here because somebody – a parent, a teacher, an Ivy League crony or a few nuns
- bent down and helped us pick up our boots.” Thurgood Marshall

Carpenter's Boots

Tim

My wonderful nephew, Tim… He has whiskers now… He’s all grown up. I remember once when he was a baby he got a golf ball stuck in his mouth. The ball was stuck behind his 4 front teeth. It was sad to see his scared, little, chubby face but the incident really was funny.  Please don’t think I’m mean…he wasn’t in danger of swallowing it. I still think it’s funny. He plays Frisbee golf now…a Frisbee is tougher to get all the way into your mouth.
